This large Mexican ceramic Cazuela features a hand-painted black centre, fluted rim and a glazed interior. The beautiful, burnished base and interior scratches hinting at its former life as a cooking vessel.
Cazuelas (Spanish for casserole) are terra cotta dishes found all over Mexico and are used to cook traditional dishes such as Mole. Rustic condition with visible wear and a few small chips. Perfect for a fruit bowl or display but may not be food safe. Measurements: L 33cm x W 32cm x H 12cm.
